Sampson and Mikita posted a strong 13-under par 58 to win by two shots over two teams. The pair also won a Double Skin, making birdie at the fifth hole both times through Twin Lakes’ nine hole layout. Those two prizes together were worth $696.
The victory likely created a mathematical lock on the 2014 Twin Lakes Series Championship and the top two places in the Bonus Pool. Watch for an update to the points list soon.
But the big winners of the day were the second place team of Mike Simpson and Jim Krivanek. They won the entire Big Skins pot with a birdie on the par-3 17th hole, and a Double Skin at the same hole as they birdied it the first time through as well. Combined, the Simpson/Krivanek total haul was a whopping $1,236.
