It was a crazy weather day on the North Course of Westfield Country Club on Wednesday, with 39 women bracing the elements to try and get one step closer to a spot at the U.S. Women’s Amateur at Southern Hills. Between the whipping winds and scattered showers throughout the late morning and into the early afternoon, only two players were able to post scores under par.
Celina Yeo was one of the two ladies to shoot under par on her way to becoming the medalist for the Cleveland Local Qualifier. Celina, a rising high school junior in Ontario, Canada, put together a very impressive round with three birdies and only one bogey on her card. Celina was the first group off the back nine this morning, the only group to get rained on during their opening tee shots. Yeo was able to fight through adversity from the jump, claiming the medalist honors and a spot in the next round of qualifying.
The second qualifier and fellow member of the 2026 graduating class was Rayee Feng. Feng, a New Jersey native, overcame a slow opening nine by posting a three-under 33 on the back nine during the most challenging conditions of the day. Feng’s four birdies on the back nine were two more than anyone else on the day.
