On July 18th, the Northern Ohio Golf Association held the Great Lakes Auto Scratch Series Four-Ball #2 at Belmont Country Club in Perrysburg, Ohio. The course was in great shape, and the field brought their best golf, with low scores all day.
In the Championship Division, Rick Deichert + Brandon Lambert gained a commanding lead early in the round and never looked back. The duo combined for eight birdies in their first 12 holes with only one bogey. Throughout the round, both golfers complimented each other’s games well and took advantage of the course’s scoring opportunities as they shaved strokes on seven of the par-4s and par-5s. The pair won the Championship Division by a fair margin, beating out Brian Beebe + Andrew Milan, the closest team, by three shots.
In the Senior Division, Tom Baugh and Tom Skidmore finished at the top of the leaderboard. The pair didn’t have a blemish on their scorecard for the round. Both Baugh and Skidmore tallied two birdies on the front, with their fifth and final one coming on par 5, 12th, by Baugh. That birdie would bring them into the clubhouse at -5 (67), good enough to hold off the groups of Mark Borlin + Allen Freeman and Scott Winckowski + Mike Belacic, who both came in at -4 (68)
NOGA’s next Scratch Series event will be the Great Lakes Auto Scratch Series Stroke Play #3 at Glenmoor Country Club. Registration Opens July 22nd.
