Lincoln Miller (Concord) captures the Jim Dawson Match Play Championship title with a comeback win over Koen Van Scoy (Hudson) at Punderson.
In the semi-final matches, Lincoln beat Noah Risman (Moreland Hills) 3&2 in a well-played battle. In the other semi-final Koen played beautiful golf to beat Ethan Olszowy (Avon) 6&5. Ethan played well, but Koen was exceptional with 3 birdies and some key pars over the 13 holes it took for the match.
In the finals, Lincoln lost holes #3 and #4, then won #5 and #6, so back to all square. Koen won #8 and #10 to go 2-up. Then, the whole match flips in Lincoln’s favor. Lincoln won #11, #13, #14 and #15 to go 2-up. He had a chance to end it on #16, but a 3-putt kept Koen alive, as Lincoln was dormie going into #17. Lincoln won #17 with a conceded par putt to win the match and the championship 3&1.
