The 2024 Joe Haase Cup was played at Firestone Country Club’s North Course in Akron on Saturday, April 20th. It was a cold and windy day, but the sun did shine and the rain stayed clear. The temperature reached 49, but the wind chill was in the 30s, so golfing conditions were extremely difficult, to say the least.
Undeterred by the challenging weather, the Central Ohio Golf Academy (COGA) showcased their prowess by clinching their second consecutive Joe Haase Cup. With a total of 393 points, they outperformed their rivals, with Northern Ohio PGA Junior Tour coming in second with 384 points and Toledo Junior Golf Association not far behind with 376 points. The North Coast Junior Tour finished fourth with 298.
Several players overcame the weather and had outstanding rounds, but none better than Evan Maki (TJGA) with a score of 2-under par 70, good for 38 points.
