Kent State University Assistant Coach Ryan Yip lead the way with a sizzling 5-under par 66 in the Championship Division of the Northern Ohio PGA’s Club Car / Pepsi Stroke Play #3 at Chagrin Valley Country Club.
Yip made a big change going into the week that helped him on the greens. “I changed from a conventional putter to an armlock, and it helped my confidence tremendously. This is also the first course in the stroke play series that I had actually played prior to the tournament so that helped as well.”
In the Senior Division, Pepper Pike’s Rob Moss (above) shot 70 (-1) to win his second stroke play event of the season. Moss sits atop the leaderboard in the 2023 Rolex Senior Player of the Year points list as well as the Ohio Cup Senior Points List.
The next stop on the Northern Ohio PGA tournament schedule is the Pro-1 Am Scratch at Mayfield Country Club next Monday.
