Based on NOPGA Player of the Year points, the top 22 professionals in the Championship Division and 10 professionals in the Senior Division qualified for The Shootout, played today at Westwood Country Club in Rocky River.
Each pod played a nine-hole match against the other three players in the pod, with each hole worth one point. The player in each pod with the most points at the end of twenty-seven holes qualified for The Shootout.
At the end of the day, four teams were determined to compete in The Shootout: Gary Rusnak/Mark Scott Jr. (Nelson Pod and Shute Pod), Jordan Schroeder/Dan Sutton (Nageotte Pod and Kaiser Pod), Tom Waitrovich/Kevin Sullivan (Burke Pod and Moffitt Pod), and Jaysen Hansen and Scott Pollack (Picard Pod and Wey Pod).
On the final hole of The Shootout, the team of Waitrovich/Sullivan made a birdie to secure their victory.
