Westfield Country Club’s North Course played host to 120 players at the 2023 Northern Ohio PGA Pro-Assistant, presented by Jani King.
1899 Golf’s Scott Pollack and Gary Rusnak lead the charge in the four-ball formatted event, shooting 63 (-7) with a flawless seven birdies on the card.
“We both played solid and never really threatened to make a bogey,” said Pollack of the round.
In second place was a tie for three teams at 65 (-5): Jaysen Hansen/Brad Cavey from Beechmont Country Club, Michael Balcar/Matt Urban from Brandywine Country Club, and Jason Hastings/Jordan Paolini from Shaker Heights Country Club.
Several sponsors were present at the event including Adidas, Evolve Golf, and Mizuno. Christa Petitt from Adidas gave hoodies to all the participants on the first tee. On the fourth hole, Jon Jacey from Evolve Golf hosted a Long Drive contest where Sean McGuire was victorious. On the tenth hole, Michael Balcar won Mizuno’s long-drive contest where participants had to use the new Mizuno ST-230 driver to be eligible.
The next stop on the Northern Ohio PGA Tournament Schedule is the Ohio Senior Open this Wednesday and Thursday at Firestone Country Club’s Fazio Course.
