The Northern Ohio PGA had its first stroke play event of the year at Lakewood Country Club today, using Stableford scoring. Points were allocated as follows:
Double Bogey or Higher = -2
Bogey = 0
Par = +1
Birdie = +3
Eagle = +5
Double Eagle or H-I-O = +8
In the Championship Division, Adam Lewicki scored 27 points with seven birdies. Said Lewicki, “That’s all I’ve got.”
In the Senior Division, Rob Moss won the event with 22 points, saying “It is always a pleasure to play at Lakewood Country Club, which is where I began my golf career working under Tom Waitrovich. The golf course was in superb condition, especially the green surfaces. These are possibly the best greens we will see all season. Although I struggled with my swing today, I was fortunate to birdie the final three holes.”
The next stop on the Northern Ohio PGA Tournament Schedule is Stroke Play #2 at Elyria Country Club.
