After two days of tough weather conditions we have our champions. It went from rainy and dreary one minute and hot and sunny the next, then came wind, showers and downpours. Mother nature threw a good one at us, but we played and finished everything on time as planned.
Boys 16-19
Mason Feather (Conneaut) won the championship in the Boys 16-19 division with a 2&1 win over Daniel Lust (Shaker Hts) in the finals match on Tuesday, June 27 at Punderson. Mason had a two up lead after hole 8 and lost holes 9, 11, 12 to go one down. He squared the match at hole 13 and won holes 16 & 17 to pull ahead for the 2&1 victory. On 17 he got up and down from the greenside bunker and a 2 foot putt to seal the win. Mason won matches over Oliver Tepper (1up) and Peyton O’Keefe (2up) to advance to the finals. Daniel won matches over Anthony Frank (3&2) and Daniel Capka (5&4) to reach the finals.
Boys 15 & Under
Jacob Rainieri (Mogadore) won the championship in the Boys 15 and Under division with a 1 up win over Lincoln Miller (Concord). Lincoln was 3 up after 10 holes. Jacob started his comeback by winning hole 12 to go back to 2 down. Then he won holes 15 and 16 to square up the match. The match was All-Square at 18 tee and Jacob won the hole with a par to claim the 1up victory.
