Today we hosted our last regular season junior tour event here at Columbia Hills Country Club. To start the day we experienced some light rain, which the players managed quite well. After the rain, the sun came out making it another great day for junior golf. Our juniors seemed to have had a great time today, and we greatly appreciate all of the hard work put in to make the course ready to play today after the rain last night.
In our Boys 16-19 Division, David Swab and Ben Scheeff tied for the win here with a two under par, 69. Both players have won three tournaments each this season on tour, which is incredibly impressive. Be sure to keep an eye out for both Swab and Scheeff next week in the Tour Championship at Club Walden.
In our Girls 16-19 Division, Natalie Kostalnick and Kristen Belden tied for the win with a pair of 78’s. This was a good score for the girls division, following the pair was Alyson Veverka with a 79.
In our Boys 11-15 Division, Patrick Myers and Alexander Stiegele tied for the lead with a pair of 73s. These two both played great rounds today here at Columbia Hills. It also happens to be Alexander Stiegele’s birthday, as we wanted to wish him a happy birthday and congratulate him on the win.
In our Girls 11-15 Division, Serena Wu came in with a five over par, 76 to secure the lead in her division. This is Wu’s second win of the season with us. Be sure to keep an eye out for Wu as she will be playing in the Tour Championship at Club Walden as well.
We would like to thank Mark Hennie, PGA and Michael Jaeger, PGA for allowing us to host our last regular season tournament here at Columbia Hills. The course was a delight for many of the players as we heard great reviews in scoring today.
