The Northern Ohio PGA Junior Tour traveled to Avon Oaks Country Club today where Matt Stroud and his team played host to our 9th tour stop of the season. Mother Nature was all confused today as it was below 60 degrees and raining in the morning but turned into a beautiful and sunny 75 degree spring day.
In the Boys 16-19 division, Braden Herstich and Tommy Vrablic both carded a one over par 72 on a tough cold and wet golf course in the morning. This was good enough for a two shot victory over Michael O’Leary and Jaden Schlabach who both posted scores of 74.
In the Boys 11-15 division, Ethan Roberts secured his first NOPGA Junior Tour victory of the season with an even par 71. Continuing his stellar play and finishing in solo second, Daniel Gambone finished two shots off of the lead with a two over par 73.
In the Girls 16-19 division, Paige McKendry secured her first victory of the NOPGA season with her four over par 74. Paige’s 74 was good enough for a two shot victory over second place finisher Madolyn Kost who shot a 77 today.
In the Girls 11-15 division, Cammy Reed and Alyssa Zhang were our co-champions of the day. Both ladies tied today with a score of four over 75.
The next stop on the NOPGA Junior Tour is June 13th at The Lake Club.
