The East Team retained the NOPGA’s Assistants Cup for the second year in a row.
After a slow start in the Four Ball matches the morning of Day One at the Sand Ridge Club in Chardon, the East Team made a nice comeback in the afternoon Foursome matches to square the totals after the first day of competition.
The West Team won the first two of the singles matches and looked like they were going to take control of the Cup. But after two halves in the third and fourth matches, and then two wins in the fifth and sixth matches, the East team solidified the eight points needed to retain the Cup.
This Ryder Cup style event features the top eight Assistant Club Professionals from the East and West Sides of the Northern Ohio PGA. Now in its 16th year, the East-West Assistants Ohio Cup tradition continues to be a highlight on the Section calendar.
