The Northern Ohio Golf Association conducted its Flighted Series Stroke Play #1 at the scenic Lake Forest Country Club on Monday. The golfers braved the heat and sun as the temperatures soared into the mid-90s throughout the day.
In the Open Division A Flight, Ken Chuparkoff (Fox Den Golf Course) scored the low round of the day with a 1-under par 71. Ken was the only golfer in the 66 person field to shoot under par. Shayne Bishop (Firestone Country Club) and Ben Hogan (Oberlin Golf Club) came in tied for second place in the A Flight, both recording a 3-over par 75.
In the B Flight, Aaron Cuddy (Silver Lake Country Club) and Dennis Dempsey (Quail Hollow Country Club) finished in a tie for first with an 11-over par 83.
In the C Flight, Jeff Mirelli (Good Park Golf Course) finished five strokes ahead of second place with a 9-over 81.
In the D Flight, JJ Alcantar (Country Club of Hudson) recorded a 17-over 89 to take first place.
In the Senior Division A Flight, Tom Meola (Quail Hollow Country Club) shot a Division best 4-over par 76 to take home first place.
In the Senior Division B Flight, Steve Pasquale (Little Mountain Country Club) recorded a first place finish of 9-over 81.
In the Senior Division C Flight, Rick Bock won by eight strokes and recorded 9-over score of 81.
In the Senior Division D Flight, Jeffrey Semivan won with a score of 17-over 89.
In the Super Senior Division A Flight, Steve Schaefer (Sleepy Hollow Golf Course) led with a 3-over par 75.
In Super Senior B Flight, Mike Blauman (Madison Country Club) took first place with an 11-over par score of 83.
In Super Senior C Flight, Dennis Fujka (Red Tail Golf Club) and John Yelsik (Sleepy Hollow Golf Course) tied for first place at 18-over 90.
