The annual and popular Zoar 2 by 4 Scramble was played Sunday afternoon, July 7th, at Zoar Golf Club. The format calls for two, 2-man scramble teams posting the better score on each hole, but all scores under par counted.
Fourteen 4-man teams endured two rain delays and enjoyed a lot of birdies and eagles.
The Team of Brian Smith and Ryan Stefanski shot a 57 while their partner team of Jimmy Wild and Steve Blackburn Jr. had a 61. Their total score of 26 under par was good by two strokes to claim first place.
Darren Phipps and Brent Shenker also shot a 57 while partner team Eric Crone and John Sibila had a 63 for second place.
Two teams tied for third place money at -22: the team of John Perkowski, Tony Pozderik, Chris Aldergate and Mike Miller; and the team of Clibb Grubb, Alex Grover, Eric Frishette and Chris Heston.
The team of Grubb and Grover won the only skin on the day, an eagle-2 on the par-4 17th that paid $560!
The next event on the schedule is the Zoar Senior Masters 2-Man Scramble for players ages 60+ on Saturday, August 3rd.
