Ella Wong (Pepper Pike) had her best day ever to win the Girls 19&U Division! She broke 80 for the first time in her young career by shooting 40-38–78. Congratulations to Ella on her great day! Ella had 8 pars and 3 birdies on the day, but finishing with 3 straight pars was a big part of breaking the 80 mark. Lauren Bangasser took 2nd, but her round started like a “house-a-fire” as she was one under par thru the first four holes, however her round flipped the other way on the last 14 holes and she finished with 40-47–87.
Jaydon Thammachack (Akron) didn’t let an early triple bogey destroy his day. He made par on the first three holes but made a triple on #4. Instead on letting it carry over to the remaining holes, he buckled down played even par on the next seven holes. Later on a couple of bogeys popped in, but overall it was an outstanding round that included 13 pars and a birdie. His 39-38–77 was one better than Tyler Ankrom (Akron) at 38-40–78 in the Boys 16-19 Division. Tyler had 8 pars and 2 birdies, but didn’t make anything higher than a bogey all day.
In the Boys 15 & Under, Robert Kimmel (Shaker Hts) posted the best score of the day at 36-36–72 (E). Robert had 12 pars and 3 birdies to edge out Dominik Cosic 38-38–76. Dominik had 11 pars and 2 birdies on his round.
