Rising Junior Meleana Santivasci (pictured) and Senior Captain Abbie Kaskey each fired 42’s to lead the Bees to a 177-232 win in the GCC opener on Wednesday afternoon at Medina Country Club.
Both Kaskey and Santivasci mentioned that things are starting to click and they really like the team chemistry.
Freshman Maddie Debnar, who continued her good start with a 46, is a good example of one whom has slid into a starting role and has shown the maturity of an upper classmen. Senior Captain Kathryn Cassidy gutted out a 47 while fighting through an off day.
Shaker Heights was led by the trio of Maggie Dant, Arrione Claytor, and Lauren Reese, who all put 57’s on the scorecard. Coach Fred Weed’s squad showed great fight and determination on the day and should show great improvement by the end of the year.
