Solon wrapped up the Greater Cleveland Conference title by winning the season ending tournament at Turkeyfoot Lakes Golf Course on Monday. The Comets were led by medalist Jennifer Wang with an even par 72 and Grace Gao with a 81.
Medina finished second, led by runner up individual Alyssa Drehs with a 75.
Brunswick was third and was led by fifth place finisher Devon Matson with an 86 and the Blue Devil’s Kaitlin Merholz (pictured above) had the highlight of the day with a hole in one on the 17th hole.
The strangest event of the day happened on the par-5 fourth hole. Solon’s Cathryn Wang elevated her second shot towards the hole and the ball appeared to be lost after a several minute search.
Wang’s ball was eventually located as it had landed in the bag pocket of Medina’s Maddie Debnar!
