The Northern Ohio PGA is now accepting applications for the 37th Michelob Ultra Ohio Senior Open at Firestone Country Club’s Fazio Course on June 1-2.
The Ohio Senior Open is an event steeped with tradition. Current sponsor Tom LaRose (House of LaRose) and Don Padgett II (2018 Super Senior Division Champion & Former Director of Golf and General Manager of Firestone Country Club) brought the Senior Ohio Open to Firestone Country Club in 1996 while Padgett was the Director of Golf. This will be the 25th year that Firestone will host the prestigious senior state championship with the first event being held in 1996 with only a two year break (2001 & 2002) due to club renovations. This year’s championship will be contested on June 1-2 on Firestone’s famed Fazio Course.
The Northern Ohio PGA will continue with two divisions, Super Senior Division for players 60 years of age and older & a Main Division for players 50 years of age and older. Super Senior golfers will play from Firestone’s hybrid tees (6,100 yards), which play 500 yards less than the main division’s tees (6,600 yards).
The tournament, sponsored by Michelob Ultra, is open to all Ohio golfers 50 years of age or older as of June 1 with a handicap index limit of 8.0. The tournament entry fee, which covers tournament rounds, cart, lunch and practice range, is $275 for PGA professionals and amateurs, and $320 for Non-PGA professionals.
Registration for the 2022 Michelob Ultra Ohio Senior Open closes on May 25 at 11:59 p.m. Please visit www.thenorthernohiopga.com for more information and registration.
