RD1 RESULTS: 2020 Summit County Amateur

New Concord’s Joe Puch, Massillon’s Josh Clay and Stow’s Kyle Buzaki share the lead after Round 1 of the 2020 Summit County Amateur Golf Championship at Good Park.

Those three players each shot a score of 4-under par 67 to lead the 127 player field.

An hour long rain delay during the middle of the morning wave didn’t seem to disrupt the scoring, as a whopping 14 players shot par or better on the testy dog-leg punch-out layout that is Good Park Golf Course in Akron.

A bunch of past champions lurk, too.

Ryan Gutowski sits one shot back after a 68. Howard Clendenin (69), Aaron Crewse (71) and 2019 defending champ Michael Klaric III (71) are all in the mix.

Plus a host of recognizable championship-winning players are in pursuit.

Niko Anagost won the only skin on Saturday, a 30-foot putt for eagle-2 after driving it on to the green at 300-yard par-4 12th hole, good for a tidy $1,010.
