Casey Schrader Leads Northern Ohio PGA Professional Championship After Day 1
Casey Schrader, Pepper Pike Club, leads by one stroke after Day 1 of the Northern Ohio PGA Professional Championship.
Schrader made four birdies on his way to a 2-under par 69.
There is a log jam for second place with Jaysen Hansen, Beechmont Country Club; Rob Moss, Pepper Pike Club; Nick Gustin, Erie Shores Golf Course; Eric Morgan, Plum Brook Country Club; and David Morgan, Eagle Creek Golf Club all tied at 1-under.
Chagrin Valley Country Club, an 18-hole Stanley Thompson-designed golf course, is host to 67 Northern Ohio PGA Professionals during the 2018 Northern Ohio PGA Section Championship, August 27-29, 2018.There will be a cut to the top 30 and ties after the conclusion of Round two tomorrow; with the final round being held on Wednesday, August 29.
Six Northern Ohio PGA Members will advance to the 52nd edition of the PGA Professional Championship presented by Club Car and OMEGA. Jaysen Hansen earned an exemption into the National event by finishing top twenty in the 2018 PGA Professional Championship.
The 2019 PGA Professional National Championship features a purse of $650,000, with live television coverage of all four rounds by the Golf Channel. A 312-player field of the nation’s finest PGA Professionals will assemble in Bluffton, SC. The field will be reduced to the low 90 players plus ties after the completion of 36 holes. After the completion of 54 holes, the field will be reduced to the low 70 players plus ties for the final round.
