Professional golfer Kathleen Ekey provided a putting and chipping clinic on Friday afternoon at Medina Country Club to the Medina High School Girl’s Golf Team.
Ekey starred at Walsh Jesuit and was the individual champion at the 2004 Ohio State High School Championships. She went on to play College golf at Furman and Alabama and turned Professional in 2009. She recently placed 4th the PHC Classic in Milwaukee.
The mixture of the novice and experienced golfers in the Battling Bees program equally appreciated the time that Kathleen spent with them as individuals. The girls felt that it really helped them improve their game, and were in awe that a professional golfer would take time to pass on her knowledge to the younger generation.
Medina Girl’s Golf Coach Mickey McGrath was very pleased with the attention and interaction that her players showed on the day.
