Mallard Creek All-Stars Seek PGA Jr League Championship

PGA Junior LeagueIs the fourth time finally the charm?

The Mallard Creek All-Stars are headed to the 2018 PGA Junior League Championship next week, competing once again at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, AZ on November 16th – 19th.

This appearance marks the fourth year in a row in the Championship round for Mallard Creek, which will be known as Team Ohio while competing in Arizona.

Team captain Jim Wise, PGA and coach Chris Reed bring five returning 2017 All-Star team members to Arizona, all of whom want nothing less than to win the title this year.

As shown left-to-right in the photo above, the 2018 Mallard Creek All-Stars are: Bryan Stone, Coach Chris Reed, Cara Heisterkamp, Brad Chill, Nolan Haynes, Preston Trumpler, Jack Vojtko, Connor Malicki, Nicholas Piesen, Charlie Mort, Captain Jim Wise, Ben Skripac.

12 All-Star Teams made up of 10 junior golfers each won their respective Regional competitions to advance to the 7th PGA Junior League Championship presented by National Car Rental.

At the Championship, those 12 teams will compete in two divisions – Ryder and Wanamaker – and play each other in a series of round-robin nine-hole matches in two-player scramble format.

Each team will compete against the five other teams in its division throughout the day on Saturday, Sunday and Monday morning, Nov 17-19.

After that, the two teams with the best Division records will compete for the national title on Monday afternoon, while the two runner-up teams from each division will compete for 3rd place overall opposite the championship match.

The Championship matches will air on Golf Channel as a two-hour primetime special on December 4th at 8 p.m. ET, and again at 12:30 a.m. ET.

Team Ohio is in the Ryder Division, competing against teams from Connecticut, California, Washington, Virginia and Louisiana.

The Wanamaker Division features teams from Delaware, Arkansas, Texas, Georgia, Illinois and Minnesota.
