The field has been set for the final event of the Great Lakes Auto Scratch Series in 2020! The Northern Ohio Golf Association Great Lakes Auto Tour Championship will start just after noon at Firestone Country Club’s West Course this Sunday, then finish up on the historic South Course starting at 8 a.m. on Monday morning.
During that event, one of the two NOGA Player of the Year races could be decided, maybe.
The Senior POY title has already been determined: Monty Guest has too big of a lead over Tom Laubacher to be challenged, given the points available at the finale.
But it is still mathematically possible that Chris Okeson could be caught by Brian Smith in the Championship Division POY race, if Smith can win the Tour Championship and his upcoming match play titles and Okeson has a poor showing at Firestone.
Players are paired in Round 1 of the Tour Championship by their POY points standing, shown below. The tournament itself should be a tightly contested one, as all of the top players in each division are in the field. Watch Northeast Ohio Golf for complete coverage this Sunday and Monday!
