The Northern Ohio PGA is now accepting registrations for its five different tours for junior golfers ages 8-22, played at some of the area’s finest courses.
The following is a list of options available to junior players for the 2015 season:
NOPGA KENNY NOVAK TOUR – For juniors 12-19, the Kenny Novak Tour consists of 16 qualifying tournaments starting on June 6 at Mill Creek GC, and a championship taking place at Club Walden July 29 to July 30, 2015. This tour is ideal for junior golfers of all playing levels.
Junior PGA Championship Qualifiers – The Northern Ohio PGA will host five Junior PGA Championship qualifying tournaments starting May 16, with the top golfers earning the opportunity to compete in the section championship June 22-23, at Shady Hollow Country Club. The top boy and girl finisher from this tournament will go on to represent the Northern Ohio Section in the national Junior PGA Championship expense paid by the National PGA of America at Miramont CC in Bryan, Texas. Section qualifiers are open to junior ages 13-18.
Northern Ohio PGA Pups Tour – For junior golfers ages 8 to 11, the Northern Ohio PGA hosts its Pups Tour, where beginners who understand the game of golf can compete against their peers. The tour consists of seven 9-hole qualifiers starting June 12, 2015 and a championship taking place July 30, 2015 at Club Walden.
Northern Ohio PGA Collegiate Series – Now in its fifth season, the Northern Oho PGA Collegiate Series gives college-aged golfers (18 to 22) the opportunity to play tougher area course and prepare the demanding world of collegiate golf. The Collegiate Series will be playing at Youngtown Country Club, Little Mountain Country Club and Alliance Country Club.
Fun Days – In an effort to bring juniors together through the game of golf, the Northern Ohio PGA gives juniors the chance to play together and spend some quality time on the course. The Fun Days events will include a Pro-3 junior at Westfield CC on June 14 and three Fun Fall Days – sites to be announced.
