Welcome to the 27th season of the Chippewa Monday Night 2-Man Scratch League!
The new season kicks off Monday, May 4th. We are implementing a couple of changes while maintaining the core ideas from the past few seasons.
We will continue our concept of having both seniors (55 and over) and younger players competing for the same prize and skins pot each week. The 55 and over guys play from the white tees, placed at a reasonable distance from the younger players’ blue tees, effectively creating a weekly tournament where a player of any age can compete at scratch. A team can be made up of a younger guy and an older guy, too.
But here’s where we make some pretty big changes for 2015:
First, there will be NO FEES DUE IN ADVANCE for League this year. Instead, we will simply collect entry fees each week for the league’s 9 holes: $10 for the pot, $10 for skins, and $20 for golf/cart per man. Simple.
Everything collected for the pot and skins that week gets paid back out (while keeping carry-over skins!), so the more players entered that week the bigger that week’s pot.
Under these rules, players can compete with the same partner each week, or mix it up and play with different partners all the time. Since league entry fees are not collected in advance, a guy can play one time in a season, or five times, or all 18 times — his choice! Come as often as you want or can.

Results will be posted right here on NEOHgolf.com. Dylan will still keep track of the week-to-week totals for each player for the 2015 Leaderboard, so that a season-long leader is still crowned.
The weekly pot and skins prizes will be returned at the player’s choice for 2015, either as gift certificates or cash. The guys in the pro shop can order any merchandise a player wants in addition to our in-stock cache of balls, gloves, etc. But if you don’t need more gear, you can take the greenbacks.
Second, there will still be two Steak Nights in 2015, with the first one at Rosemont on Monday, July 13th (11:30 $50 big skins game there that day, too!). The second one will be scheduled at the end of the season. The Steak Night dinners with all the trimmings will cost just $10 extra to whomever wants to eat, payable at check-in on steak night. It’s our way of saying thank you to the league players.
Formats for the weekly events will continue to include 2-player scramble, better ball, combined score, shamble, and on steak nights, a series of different formats over three holes each. Bring your A-game!
And finally, to eliminate some of the administrative confusion for 2015, note that ALL TIES SPLIT regardless of place, number of teams that tie, or the amount. Much cleaner that way.
The Monday Noon Big Skins Game is still being played in 2015, with tee times open from 11:45a until 12:30p. Cost for the skins is $50 for amateurs and $100 for pros. Cost for golf with cart is $25 for 18 holes, or just $35 for ‘all you can play’ which is perfect for the guys who roll right into league night. Come on out for the early game whenever you can!
League play begins this Monday May 4th and runs for 18 weeks through late September, with no play on Memorial Day or Labor Day Monday. So I look forward to seeing everyone this coming Monday Night for the kickoff of the 2015 season — warm temps are expected!
