The inaugural Tuscarawas County Championship sponsored by the Yuengling Brewing Company is slated for this weekend at Zoar Village Golf Course.
Pairings are posted at www.zoarvillagegolf.com and feature some of the best amateur golf talent that lives or works in Tuscarawas County.
The weekend’s events start with the Long Drive Contest Friday afternoon at 6. Each contestant will be given three swings and they are competing for the title of The Yuengling Light Long Drive Champion and a $100 bill.
The first round begins at 11 Saturday morning. After conclusion of the first round, three divisions will be created. Then Sunday will be the final round and three Sterling Cut Crystal Cups will be handed to the champions.
A Hog Heaven bar-b-q and awards ceremony presented by The Tuscarawas County Humane Society will conclude the championship weekend.
The public is invited to watch the competition at Zoar Village Golf Course, just north of Dover on Dover-Zoar Road.
