PREVIEW: 2014 First Tee of Canton Spitale Junior Tour

First Tee of CantonThe First Tee of Canton is continuing the Spitale Junior Tour to create The First Tee of Canton Spitale Junior Golf Tour.

For over 12 years, The First Tee of Canton has been teaching life skills through the game of golf to thousands of young people in our community. The goal of this tour is to grow the game of golf by providing junior golfers an opportunity to play competitive golf at a low cost.

“Our family’s name attached to The First Tee of Canton is truly an honor,” said Jay Spitale. “This means that the Spitale Junior Tour that I started in memory of my father, Angelo Spitale, will live on through The First Tee of Canton. The Tour will remain a competitive tour with target scores met before you can compete. I am confident in the staff of The First Tee of Canton and Golf Professional, Terry Taylor, to run class events for junior golfers of Stark County.”

“It’s a privilege that Jay Spitale approached The First Tee of Canton to continue this great junior event,” said Terry Taylor. “Our staff and board of directors are excited about this opportunity and we look to maintain the high level of professionalism that Jay has provided.”

The Tour will start Monday, June 9th and run Mondays through July 28th. The July 28th Tour will tie in with The Schorsten Memorial Tournament at Arrowhead Country Club. Registration cut off is the Friday before each date at The First Tee of Canton. The Schorsten Memorial will do registration at Arrowhead.
