After successfully building a great 2-player scramble tournament series at Twin Lakes, event director Chris Plute (left) is restarting that series on Sunday, May 31st at a new venue: Paradise Lake Country Club near Mogador.
The golf course at Paradise Lake Country Club is tree-lined and beautiful, and it’s typically in great shape. At 5,655 yards it’s short but tight, so every player and every team has a chance to win in a scramble format. But that shorter length also means loads of drivable holes, eagle chances, and big scoring swings too! Should be fun.
The Paradise Lake 2-Man Scramble Series has two events scheduled to date, offering a similar format as before but with a couple of small operational changes.
The entry fees stay at $115 per player for everything: $35 golf/cart, $40 tournament entry, plus optional $30 big skins and $10 pin shot games.
But new for this year, senior players age 55 and over get a bit of a head start playing from the white tees. These forward tees will be placed in close proximity to the back tees, though, to keep it fair for every team.
And finally, a firm entry deadline of 9pm the Thursday prior is in force, as tee times must be managed with the golf course. Prepayment is not required to sign up your team, but you must register in advance of the deadline or you may get shut out and you will pay a small extra fee.
The first event is scheduled for Sunday, May 31st, and the second for Sunday, June 21st. Play starts at 9 a.m. for both, with tee times. If these two are well-received, additional events will be put on the calendar.
