Ohio Open at Weymouth, Fox Meadow in 2011

Northern Ohio PGA SectionThe Northern Ohio PGA has announced that the 2011 Ohio Open will move to Weymouth Country Club and Fox Meadow Country Club in Medina.

The NOPGA’s flagship event, played at Quail Hollow Country Club for the last three years, will move to the Medina area to be more central to the players of the region. The 2011 event will be played July 18-20.

The tournament has moved several times after spending 15 years at Tam O’Shanter in Canton, through 2003. Barrington Golf Club and Club Walden were co-hosts in 2004-2005, then Acacia Country Club and Little Mountain Country Club followed in 2006-2007.

The new Medina location will be in place through 2012, and Minute Men Staffing will remain as the title sponsor. Contestants in the 54-hole tournament will play one round on each course, with the final 18 holes at Weymouth after a cut.

  1. This is great news. Weymouth was very exciting to play for the U.S. Open qualifier this year and was certainly not easy. It’s going to be a great venue.
