NOPGA, SOPGA Announce Junior Ohio Cup

The Northern Ohio PGA and Southern Ohio PGA today announced the launch of the Junior Ohio Cup, a team format competition featuring the best NOPGA and SOPGA junior players from around the state going head-to-head this fall. The inaugural event is set to take place on October 28-29, 2023 at Westfield Country Club in Westfield Center, Ohio.

Junior Tour Members from each organization will have the opportunity to qualify for the 16 person team. Each team will be made up of eight boys and eight girls, competing in Four-Ball and Singles matches.

“Today marks a historic milestone for junior golf in Ohio as we proudly announce the first-ever Junior Ohio Cup matches,” noted David Griffith. “We are thrilled to collaborate with our counterparts from Southern Ohio to showcase the exceptional talents and sportsmanship of our young golfers in this great state. As the Executive Director of Northern Ohio PGA, I couldn’t be more proud to be a part of this momentous occasion.”

Patrick Salva, Executive Director of the Southern Ohio PGA, added, “We are incredibly excited to kick off the Junior Ohio Cup. The Ohio Cup, a tradition-rich event between our two sections, has brought us closer over the years. We look forward to bringing the best junior players from both sections together at the end of the year to celebrate everyone’s accomplishments through this fun competition.”
