Members of the Northern Ohio Professional Golfers Association will offer free golf lessons once again when the Cleveland Golf and Travel Show returns to the I-X Center this Friday through Sunday, February 17-19.
Show attendees can receive a free 10-minute golf lesson from any one of a number of NOPGA Golf Professionals simply by reporting to the NOPGA instruction area and signing up.
Lessons will be available on Friday (11 a.m. to 5 p.m.), Saturday (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.) and Sunday (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.).
NOPGA officials estimate that close to 500 lessons were taught during the 2020 show, which returns after a two-year absence due to Covid.
Additionally, NOPGA Golf Professionals will conduct special 40-minute presentations on the I-X Center stage at various times all three days.
Jason Carbone, Head Professional at Canterbury Golf Club and included as one of the Top 100 instructors in the country by Golf Magazine, will take the stage at 2:15 p.m. on Friday. Carbone worked at some of the finest clubs in America, including Muirfield Village and Baltusrol Golf Club (New Jersey) before returning to the area in 2022.
On Saturday at 12 p.m. Jimmy Beers, who has been a professional for 25 years, will give tips for junior players and discuss the NOPGA Junior Tour. Beers, a professional for 25 years, opened the Jimmy Beers Golf facility in Stow last year.
Drew Pierson, co-owner and Director of Instruction at The Clubhouse in Beachwood, will open the show on Sunday at 11 a.m., followed by Kevin Sullivan, the Improvement Center Manager at GolfTec Brecksville, who will appear at 1 p.m.
