Continuing professional golf’s tradition of giving back to the community, members of the Northern Ohio Section of the Professional Golfers Association will conduct its PGA HOPE Cup on Wednesday, September 27th at Portage Country Club.
PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) is a national program that introduces golf to our veterans and active-duty military to help enhance their physical, mental, social and emotional well-being.
The program includes a six-to-eight-week curriculum led by PGA Professionals trained in adaptive golf and military cultural competency. The program is funded by PGA REACH and supplemented by PGA Section Foundations, meaning it is free to all veterans.
The event at Portage Country Club will be a day of celebration for the Northern Ohio veterans – PGA HOPE graduates — who have participated in the program.
Ten fivesomes, led by NOPGA members, will play a scramble on the back nine at Portage Country Club beginning at 9:30 a.m. The scramble will be followed by a luncheon and awards ceremony.
