In advance of the 93rd Habitec Toledo Open on Sunday, the Northern Ohio PGA Section Foundation partnered with Habitec Security in organizing a skills clinic for junior golfers from the First Tee – Lake Erie at Belmont Country Club. The clinic brought together aspiring young golfers and experienced PGA Professionals.
PGA Professionals Kevin Sullivan and Drew Pierson were on hand to lead the clinic, providing valuable instruction to the young participants. The clinic began with a focus on swing basics at the driving range where the juniors had the opportunity to fine-tune their golf swings under expert guidance. Following this, the group moved to the putting green, where they honed their short-game skills with the guidance of seasoned professionals. As the clinic reached its conclusion, the junior golfers put their newfound knowledge into practice by playing a hole at Belmont Country Club course.
Kevin Sullivan said it best: “The life skills that they teach at the First Tee are things that these juniors will use for the rest of their lives. All of the juniors came up to us shook our hands and introduced themselves. Habitec Security has stepped up in helping out the Toledo golf community.”
In a remarkable display of community support, John Smythe, President of Habitec Security, was present at the event and made a generous donation of $1,000 to the First Tee – Lake Erie, reinforcing the commitment to nurturing young talent and promoting the growth of junior golf in the region.
