Northern Ohio PGA Section Foundation Awards Two Outstanding High School Seniors with $10,000 Scholarships for Higher Education

Northern Ohio PGAThe Northern Ohio PGA Section Foundation is proud to announce the recipients of the 2023 NOPGA Section Foundation Scholarships, awarded to exceptional high school seniors in pursuit of their higher education. Halle Ellis of North Canton, OH, and Fletcher Clark of Massillon, OH, were each bestowed with a $10,000 scholarship, enabling them to pursue their dreams and make a positive impact on their communities.

The prestigious Kenny Novak Scholarship Day, a Pro-Junior-3 Amateur scramble event, played a significant role in funding this year’s scholarships, with all proceeds dedicated to supporting the education of promising students. The event comes before the playing of the 40th Kenny Novak Tour Championship, where over 130 juniors will compete at Walden for the Kenny Novak trophy.

Halle Ellis, North Canton

Halle Ellis, a graduate of North Canton Hoover High School with a remarkable 4.5 GPA, has demonstrated her dedication to excellence both in academics and sports. Besides excelling on the NOPGA Junior Tour and Ohio Girls Golf Foundation events, she has also contributed as a lifeguard at the North Canton YMCA. Halle is an active member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Club, and has held leadership roles as the golf team captain, swim team captain, and pre-school teacher aid. Halle’s academic journey continues at the University of Tampa, where she will pursue a degree in biology while showcasing her golf skills on the club golf team.

Fletcher Clark, Massillon

Fletcher Clark, a graduate of Jackson High School with a stellar 4.1 GPA, balanced academics and work at Shady Hollow Country Club. His dedication to his studies earned him membership in both the National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society, as well as the prestigious Summa Cum Laude distinction. Beyond academics, Fletcher actively participated in numerous clubs, including Student Council, Business and Investment Club, Chess Club, and Asian Culture Club. His journey of higher education begins at Ohio State University, where he will pursue a degree in Logistics Management / Business Administration.

The Northern Ohio PGA Section Foundation also extends its heartfelt congratulations to Samantha Pryzbys and Nathan Kelly for their exceptional achievements. In recognition of their outstanding talents and accomplishments, they were both honored with well-deserved scholarships to support their future endeavors.

The Northern Ohio PGA Section Foundation Scholarships were established to recognize outstanding high school seniors who exemplify excellence in scholarship, community service, leadership, and financial need. The scholarships provide each recipient with $10,000 over four years, supporting their academic journey and empowering them to make a positive impact on their communities.
