Over the past several weeks, the Northern Ohio Golf Association has been actively working with multiple golf and non-golf related partners to provided valuable resources to help the local golf community navigate the ever-evolving landscape related to the COVID-19 era in Northeast Ohio.
Due to the uncertainties in the State of Ohio relating to the current Stay at Home order in effect through May 1, and with the health and safety of our members and staff the highest priority, we would like to share the following:
– The Two-Person Scramble scheduled for May 4 has been postponed and will be rescheduled for later in the season;
– NOGA tournament registration has been further delayed until May 1, with rolling registration start dates opening 14-days before each tournament;
– The remaining tournaments in May will move forward as scheduled, however we are currently working with each club to explore every avenue (e.g. tee times versus shotgun, opportunities for players to walk or use pushcarts, etc.) to ensure proper social distancing measures are followed and the health and safety of our players and tournament staff is maintained.
We will continue to provide updates as more information is gathered from local, state and national governments.
For a list of COVID-19 resources available to both golfers and golf courses, please visit the NOGA COVID-19 Resource Center.
We thank you for your patience and support during this unprecedented time. We believe that playing golf is a wonderful activity, and always encourage all members to play in a safe manner, particularly taking additional precautions during this challenging time.
