Green native and Ohio State sophomore Maxwell Moldovan won the Buckeye-hosted Robert Kepler Intercollegiate on Sunday at Columbus Country Club.
Moldovan entered the final round two shots out of the lead then fired a bogey-free 4-under 68 to come back and win. He finished the 54 holes with scores of 68-69-68 for an 11-under par total.
The win was the third of the spring for Moldovan, who has now carded a round of par or better in each of his last 13 rounds.
On Sunday, Moldovan made just one birdie through the first 13 holes. But he stuffed an approach on the short uphill par-4 14th and then got up-and-down for birdie at the par-5 15th to give him a one-shot lead with three holes to play. After pars at both 16 and 17, he needed just a par at 18 to secure the win, but rolled in a 20-foot birdie putt to win by two shots.
