An incredible early run-out, then a bit of a par-making flat-line coming home.

That’s what both the teams teams who tied for first place did on Sunday in the May edition of the 2014 Twin Lakes 2-Man Scramble Series.

Dave Sotka and Nick Anagnost were a sizzling 9-under par after their first 12 holes, but could only manage six pars on the way in.

Ryan Mikita and Mike Sampson were 8-under par after 12 holes and managed to get the one birdie they needed in the final six to grab a share of the win. They also netted two skins on the day to pad their haul.

While neither team could find that extra birdie to finish solo first, a score of 9-under par in a two man scramble is always a strong effort, especially at Twin Lakes.

Shayne Bishop and Mark Sizzler finished alone in third place one shot behind. But they earned more than the winning teams by taking the only ‘Double Skin’ on the day with an aggregate eagle/birdie combination at the par-5 third hole.

It was finally a nice golf day, sunny and windless with temps in the low 60s. Even after all of the rain of the past two weeks, the golf course was in fantastic condition and the greens putted well. 18 teams participated in the event.

ADGAUpdated standings for the Twin Lakes Series Championship year-long bonus pool will be posted later this week.

The next event in this monthly two-man scramble series will be played on Sunday, June 1st; entry details here. That date should draw a bigger than usual field, as ADGA Golfer of the Year Points will be awarded to members…
