Massillon native and former Malone University player Richie Schembechler shot a final round 67 to finish at 20-under par to win the 2018 Waterloo Open and its $50,000 first place prize.
“I can’t put into words how much this means to me,” Schembechler said of the win. “It’s a lot of money. It is my biggest check. My biggest win for sure.”
Schembechler’s 3-day total included a 62 on Saturday. He won by a single shot.
