Nestled in the rolling hills of Holmes County, Black Diamond Golf Course is a unique, challenging layout with swooping fairways and significant elevation changes. It also boasts one of the only par-6 holes in the state.
The course offers 18 holes, a driving range, practice putting and chipping area, and two lodges on-site that can be rented to groups from four to 22.
Located an hour and a half from Cleveland and about an hour from Columbus, Black Diamond is in the heart of Amish country. It opened in 2000, designed by Barry Serafin. The course measures 6,460 yards from the back tees and has a slope rating of 130 and a 71.3 USGA rating.
The layout is challenging: narrow landing areas for both drives fairway shots, and undulating putting surfaces place a premium on accuracy. But the elevation changes make for many long-look vistas which add to the golf experience.
