106 senior golfers teed off Wednesday in the 29th Michelob Ultra/Minute Staffing Ohio Senior Open at Firestone Country Club’s West Course.
Play was halted in the afternoon due to rain, but the round was completed.
First round leader Tony Milam from Concord, Ohio shot a bogey free 65, making five birdies. Tony carries a 3 shot lead into the final round tomorrow over John McMahon from Aurora.
In the Super Senior Division Frank Guise (a) and Phillip Russo (a) share the first round lead with even par 70.
Highlights of the day included two hole-in-ones on Hole #3. Jack Wentzel (a) of North Lawrence and former Cincinnati Red Chris Sabo (a) both aced the hole with a 6 iron. When asked about his hole-out, Jack joked, “It was an accident. I didn’t even see it go in.”
