The veteran team of Nick Lambos and Kurt Peterson used their eagle on the par-5 7th hole at Turkeyfoot Lake Golf Links to help them earn a one-shot victory in the Akron District Golf Association’s 2010 edition of the Park H. Thornton 2-Man Better Ball on Saturday.
On a day with swirling winds that were difficult to gauge, Lambos and Peterson shot 7-under par 64 in the better ball format to best the team of Jeff Mallette and John Oyster by one.
In the senior division, the team of Joe Hedrick and Jim Tarter shot a 3-under par 68 to win by a single shot.
