After finishing in fifth place in the NCAA Division I Kissimmee Regional, the Kent State Golden Flashes Men’s Golf Team is headed to the 2018 National Championship in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Kent State finished at 20-under par for the 54 hole regional, to gain the final qualifying spot by two shots over Arizona.
Florida won the qualifier with a sizzling 42-under par.
Individually, Chase Johnson led the way with a 54-hole total of 9-under par to finish T6, while Stow’s Ian Holt posted 7-under par to finish T9.

The Golden Flashes move on to Nationals May 25-30 at Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Following the first three days of stroke play, only the top 15 teams and nine individuals not on an advancing team will compete on the final day of stroke play to determine the top eight teams that will advance to match play as well as the 72-hole individual champion. The team national champion will be determined by a match-play format that will consist of quarterfinals and semifinals conducted on Tuesday, May 29, followed by finals on Wednesday, May 30.
