All five of the NOGA Season Long Match Play Brackets have reached at least the Round of 16. With deadlines approaching weekly in the Brackets, below is an update of where things stand a month after our first update.
Great Lakes Auto Scratch Individual Matches
The Quarterfinals for the Championship and Senior Division Scratch Series Stroke Play are finalized. Players will have until the 28th of July to play their matches before the start of the Semifinals.
Championship Division

The Quarterfinals for the Championship Division will feature all top 10 seeded players, with the only upset in the Round of 16 being the nine-seed Christopher Brown over the eight-seed Tyler Ankrom. The top seeds all managed to take full advantage of their home course gained from their Qualifier performance up to this point, including the number one overall seed Jeff Blechschmidt (pictured above).

Senior Division

The Senior Division Quarterfinals will feature two double-digit seeds after the 14 seed Tim Baker and the 12 seed Mark Borlin completed upsets in the Round of 16. The 2nd overall seed, Tom Laubacher, had to battle for his spot in the Quarterfinals in his match against the 15 seed Allen Freeman. The two were tied going into the 18th at Club Walden. Freeman would lip out a 30-foot birdie putt, which allowed Laubacher to win it with a 15-foot birdie. That match had four lead changes and eight birdies between the two.

Great Lakes Auto Scratch Four-Ball Matches
The Semifinals for the Championship and Senior Division Scratch Series Four-Ball are finalized. Players will have until August 4th to play their matches before the start of the Finals.
Championship Division

The first Semifinal match will be between two of the top five seeds, including the number 1 seed Griffin Todd/Garrett Frank, who are coming off their Quarterfinal match that went 19 holes, and the number 5 seed Chris Okeson/Michael Klaric III, who won their Quarterfinal match by one hole. The other Semifinal match will feature the number 7 seed George Rohan/Jonah Karzmer and the number 14 seed Jeff Meagrow/ John Bernatovicz, who are coming off a 3&2 win in the Quarterfinals.

Senior Division

The Senior Division Semifinals has three teams in the top 10, including the number 2 seed Mark Borlin/Allen Freeman, who won their first actual match 3&2 after having a bye in the first round and winning by forfeit in the second Round. The two seeds will face off against the number 6 seed, Paul Lagrotteria/Scott Saari, who is coming off an upset of the number 3 seed, Tom Laubacher/Mike Cassell, 2&1. The other Semifinal will include two teams also coming off Quarterfinal round upset victories, with the number 5 seed Mark Thomas/Bob Spino and the number 17 seed Jon Nagy/Nick Bukovecky.

Sikich Net Stroke Play Matches

The Net Stroke Play Round of 32 deadline was the past Sunday, July 14th. Players will have until Sunday, August 4th to complete their Round of 16 matches. The Round of 16 includes four seeds lower than 20, including the 39th seed Ed Ruper, the 23rd seed David Piros, the 30th seed Danny Reaser, and the 43rd seed Jim Strunk. With all of these upsets, there is still a chance that all of the top five seeds will be included in the Round of 16, as all of the top four seeds have advanced and the 5th seed Tom Thompson has yet to report his match, which will result in a coin flip.

Sikich Net Four-Ball Matches

Net Four-Ball match play has moved into the Round of 16, which will close this upcoming Sunday, the 21st. Five spots are still up for grabs in the Quarterfinals, with all three teams already advanced to the Quarterfinals being in the top 8. The three teams include four-seed David Thompson/Tony Hark, five-seed Patrick Griffin/Cole Pittis, and eight-seed Jim Crandall/Tim Polgar. The remaining matches in the Round of 16 feature three teams seeded above 30.

Old-Pal Net Four-Ball Matches

The Semifinals for the Old-Pal Four-Ball Match Play are set. The two matches will feature two top 5 seeds facing off: one seed, Eric Schaaf/Brady Schroeder, who took their Quarterfinal match to 20 holes before securing their spot in the semis, and five seed, Owen Kitz/Grant Tefft. The other Semifinal match will be between two teams with an almost identical path to the final four. The 14 and 15 seeds of Joe Hobensack/John Sizemore and Kevin Mcafee/Aaron Kazan completed upsets in their two previous matches by the same score, 3&2 and 2&1, after having the same score in the qualifier.
