This September, over 70 of our Northern Ohio PGA Professionals and Associates and our staff will participate in our 5th Annual Smucker’s Birdies & Charity event.
On September 16th, each of our team members will play 18 holes — a total of 108 holes in one day — at Portage Country Club, striving to make as many birdies as possible to raise funds for the Northern Ohio PGA Section Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, and other local golf charities.
Meet the Team:
– David Griffith, Executive Director
– Matt Rutland, Director of Competitions
– Danielle Monas, Foundation Director
– Haleigh Gray, Junior Golf Coordinator
– Emily Jones, PGA WORKS Fellow
– Erin Craig, Head Professional at North Olmsted GC
Last year, thanks to your generous support, the Northern Ohio PGA Section Foundation raised over $180,000. This year, we’re aiming for a new goal of $200,000 as we compete against other clubs in Northern Ohio.
Your help is vital in reaching this milestone. To contribute, please click here to pledge an amount per birdie or make a flat donation.
So far this year, the NOPGA Section Foundation has awarded over $30,000 in scholarships to deserving high school seniors, recognizing their academic achievements, community involvement, and financial needs. Additionally, through the Clubs Fore Kids program, we’ve provided golf clubs and PGA Professional instruction to over 110 juniors in financial need and girls’ high school golf teams, helping to expand the game’s reach across Northern Ohio. The Northern Ohio PGA Section Foundation is also proud to administer seventeen PGA HOPE programs, impacting more than 350 Veterans, using golf as a means of therapy.
This event presents a wonderful opportunity for our clubs to make a meaningful impact on our community while competing with neighboring clubs in fundraising. We encourage you to click here and select “Northern Ohio PGA” to pledge your support or make a flat donation.
Here’s to many birdies!
