UPDATE: Jami Morris finished third overall in her Division while winning the Driving portion of the competition.
A Northeast Ohio teenager could win it all at Augusta next Sunday, April 1st.
15-year old Jami Morris of Chagrin Falls is one of 80 qualifiers who each year earn the opportunity to compete in the Drive, Chip & Putt National Finals at one of the most prestigious golf clubs in the world, Augusta National Golf Club, home of the Masters Tournament.
Jami made it through three stages of qualifying to get to nationals: locally at Windmill Golf Center, the sub-regional at Westfield Group Country Club; and the regional at Jack Nicklaus’ Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio.
She’s the real deal, too: Jami won her division at Muirfield Village.
This is her first year competing in the DCP National Finals after trying to qualify locally in 2015 and 2016.
Jami has been playing golf since she was introduced to the sport at an after-school golf program at the age of 10. By the time she
reached her freshman year of high school at Laurel School, she competed with her team in the OHSAA state championships. She plays often with her Dad as members at Beechmont Country Club.
The 2018 Drive, Chip and Putt National Finals will be broadcast live Sunday, April 1 at 8:00am EST on Golf Channel. You can also watch the live stream on the DCP website starting at 8:00am EST.
