Another Northeast Ohio golf course is closing up shop.
Grandview Golf Club in Middlefield, east of Cleveland out past Burton on Route 87, will not open for the 2016 season.
The current owners are selling the course in an auction this spring, at a date not yet determined.
Until that auction is completed and the buyer is named, it is unclear whether the facility will reopen as a golf course or be used for something else.
From the Grandview Golf Club website:
Dear Patrons & Friends of Grandview Golf, Restaurant & Banquet Facility,
The ownership of Grandview Golf Course regrets to inform you that Grandview will not open for business in 2016 under the current ownership. We are currently under contract with Scott Mihalic with Mihalic Associates & Auctioneers LLC. / Ohio Real Estate Auctions LLC. to sell the property at auction in the Spring of 2016. You may need to adjust your plans for golf, swimming and dining accordingly until the new owner takes possession.
The property consists of approximately 220 acres with a golf course, restaurant, pro shop, pool and maintenance buildings. There are 80 acres that consist of woods and 140 acres that consist of the golf course and amenities.
The auction will take place on location and offer the entire golf course property and facility as a whole and also by the separate parcels ranging anywhere from 3 to 20 acres (which ever the highest bid is – this is called multi par). The survey is being completed now to verify the proposed lot sizes. As stated previously the auction will take place in early spring and once the date is confirmed we will let you know via email and or by local advertisements.
The current Grandview ownership deeply regrets this necessity and we greatly appreciate all our loyal patrons, employees and supporters over the past 5 years.
Best Regards,
Grandview Golf Club Ownership
