Fred Miller Wins 2014 Ohio Senior Amateur

Fred Miller of Aurora posted two solid rounds at the challenging Congress Lake Club to win the 2014 Ohio Senior Amateur Golf Championship in Hartville today.

Miller began the day one stroke behind two players, Jeff Sparks of Cincinnati and Buck Baumann of Fremont, shooting an even par round on Tuesday.

After posting his 1-over par 73 in round two, Miller watched as the leaders fell back with some big numbers.

Fred’s one over par total was good for a single shot victory over well-known amateur Randy Reifers of Columbus. 2014 Senior Northeast Ohio Am champ Jim Durr of Silver Lake finished solo third.

The Super Senior division was won by DeWayne Wendt of Findlay in a four-shot romp.
