Thursday, August 13 at Topgolf Cleveland
The First Tee of Cleveland’s Board of Directors and Ambassadors Committee have teamed together to host a special fundraiser in place of the non-profit’s two traditional golf outings.
Join in the fun on Thursday, August 13 from 8-11 a.m. for a fun, casual experience at Topgolf Cleveland in Independence while supporting an important cause!
Headquartered at Cleveland Metroparks’ Washington Golf Course in Newburgh Heights, The First Tee of Cleveland impacts, influences and inspires Northeast Ohio youth ages 6 to 18 by empowering them to build strong character assets using Life Skills, Core Values and Healthy Habits. The First Tee of Cleveland is one of 150 chapters of The First Tee, a national initiative begun in 1997. In 2019, more than 2,100 young people participated in programs led by more than 120 trained coaches and volunteers.
The Topgolf event will include: Topgolf’s TopContender tournament, breakfast, beverages, a raffle and a swag bag. Each bay accommodates 6 golfers. Topgolf’s head pro will lead the TopContender tournament. Complimentary clubs are provided, but guests may bring their own. Prizes will be awarded to the three top-scoring teams.
Topgolf’s outdoor hitting bays have 11 feet from tee to tee. The facility has implemented new guidelines for social distancing and protocols to help keep guests and staff healthy and safe. Enhanced disinfecting measures take place throughout the venue.
The event co-chairs are Daryl Deckard, Jim Peelman and Tom Turco. Ambassadors Committee co-chairs are Justin Geyser and Tina Tamburro.
Tickets are $200 per person or $1,000 for a bay of 6. Sponsorships are also available. Annual Partner sponsors include: Cuyahoga Community College, Lubrizol, Merrymeeting and PwC.
Proceeds from the event will support The First Tee of Cleveland’s delivery of its proven life skills curriculum to local youth. Program fees make up only 7% of the chapter’s annual revenues. The organization never turns a child away due to the inability to pay.
