Cari Hetler (Green) and Diane Rubin-Schuld (Canton) finish the 5th Annual WOSGA Cosmopolitan Four-Ball with two consistent rounds to claim the win at Alliance Country Club. The pairing shot 36 on the front-nine both days, and missed having two of the exact same rounds by one stroke; posting a 37 on the back-nine on Monday and a 38 on Tuesday. The consistency the team displayed through the two days propelled them to a three stroke lead in the Gross Division.
Natalie Weinsz (North Canton) and Carol Bonavita (North Canton) took home the overall win in the Net Division of the two day tournament. After posting a net 61 on Monday, the team followed that performance up with a net 65 to win the division by five strokes. It was six pars by Natalie Weinsz on the back nine on Tuesday that put the pairing in position to claim the top spot in the Net Division after two days.
The Cosmopolitan Four-Ball was the first WOSGA tournament that was run in conjunction with the Northern Ohio Golf Association. There will be three more tournaments this summer for the WOSGA, including the 48th Ohio Girls Junior, the 101st Women’s Ohio State Amateur, and the 26th Women’s Ohio State Senior Amateur.
